The Ministry of Education has launched NIPUN “(National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy) Bharat Scheme.” With this vision, the Government of India launched the National Mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy on 5th July, 2021 to attain its objectives by 2026-27.
FLN refers to a child’s ability to read with meaning and solve basic maths problems by class 3. These are crucial basic skills that helps them to succeed in life.
- Pre existing knowledge of a language help children gain literacy skills. Key components involved are :-
- Oral language development
- Decoding
- Reading fluency with comprehension
- Writing
- Foundational numeracy means the ability to reason and to apply simple numerical concepts in daily life problems solving. Key components involved are :-
- Pre number concepts
- Number and operations on numbers
- Shapes and spatial understanding
- Measurement
Our school is continuing progress on the way to achieve the three aforesaid “Developmental Goals of NIPUN Bharat”.
